Wave of Bliss Meditation

Tell me a little about yourself:

My name is Julie Gandalfo, I am the founder of Wave of Bliss Meditation. In 2008, I met my meditation teacher in Los Angeles and began practicing Vedic Meditation. My life began to shift in very positive ways and I wanted to learn everything I could about this technique that was helping me so much. Within six months I found myself traveling to India to study with every Vedic master I could find. After 7 years of study in India and Los Angeles I began to teach Vedic Meditation. I am currently living and teaching in Rincón, and also teach in Michigan, Canada and California.

What is your mission statement?

To help others discover that their true peace and happiness reside inside themselves. To teach a 5,000 year old technique that dissolves stress in the body, boosts over all health and makes people feel happy for no damn reason.

When did you open your business in Rincon?

I moved to Rincón,Puerto Rico Last year. I am a surfer, lover of nature and wanted a slower pace of living.

What was your inspiration to open your business in Rincon?

I host retreats in Puerto Rico and around the United states. I have helped a lot of people on the island who have suffered with trauma from the aftermath of Hurricane Maria.

I currently teach by appointment only at my home in Puntas. I teach on a sliding scale so my services are available to all.

Centro La Paz Yoga and Pilates Studio

Tell me a little about yourself:

Offering Yoga, Pilates, Massage Therapy, Colon Hydrotherapy, Reiki, Hypnotherapy, Trainings and Workshops, Centro La Paz strives for balance in every way and everywhere. Our Wellness Store offers a variety of lifestyle items.

What is your mission statement?

To offer a safe space for individuals and their families to learn, practice and integrate alternative health methods into their own lives.

When did you open your business in Rincon?

We opened Centro La Paz in 2010, where I started as a massage therapist and yoga teacher with the originals. I managed the business for years and purchased the business in 2016.

What was your inspiration to open your business in Rincon?

I have always strived to spread health in all its forms to the world community and starting with myself by putting them into practice in my life as well as growing a tribe that has that same vision.

What positive changes have you seen in your business since you opened in Rincon? When I first joined La Paz it was focussed more on a tourist market, high prices and classes in English only, I came in to bring the local Puertorican into their bodies and practice which has been a major focus I. Particular with our community outreach, particularly raising funds for the local public schools with our wellness days.

What is your location and hours of operation?

We are located on Carretera 115, km 14.1 by Island West Properties in Rincon, Puerto Rico and offer services throughout the week by appointment as well as a morning and evening yoga practice. We have a custom app Centro La Paz that people can download to keep up to date on our schedule, specials and services.

Rincon Ride

What is your mission statement?

Rincon Ride‘s Mission statement is simple! We want to be the best outdoor spin class in the tropics! We believe it’s YOUR RIDE at Rincon Ride which means that all levels of fitness can enjoy the benefits of spinning! We provide an unmatched setting to workout in. We have spectacular views of the ocean, amazing sunset rides, motivating and caring certified MADDOG spinning instructors and an eclectic selection of music for all to enjoy! We provide water and workout towel plus a delightful post ride ice cold eucalyptus towel to finish off a perfect workout.

When did you open your business in Rincon?

We opened our business in Feb of 2013. We have had 6 great seasons here at Rincon Ride!

What was your inspiration to open your business in Rincon?

We have owned our home in Puntas since Sept. 2004 after coming to Rincon for a surf vacation in April of 2004. We were so taken by Rincon that we returned in July and bought a house, our little piece of heaven! Both my husband and I had wonderful careers as teachers in New York (John, history and me, Kathy, Physical Education. When we retired, Rincon Ride was born! Our inspiration came from wanting to share our love of fitness through spinning! Providing a place for spinning enthusiasts on vacation but also introduce the benefits of spinning to the community of Rincon and be a service to all. For us it is the perfect blend of what we love, teaching and fitness.

What positive changes have you seen in your business since you opened in Rincon?

We have become a thriving boutique spin studio with many repeat spinners who come to Rincon on vacation and spin with us every year and we also have a great local following who have made us feel so lucky to be part of this wonderful community!
