Animal Rescue Foundation of Rincon, Puerto Rico

Animal Rescue Foundation (ARF) of Rincón is an animal welfare organization that services the town of Rincón, Puerto Rico, that started in 1997. It was started by a handfull of devoted volunteers that would rescue and find homes for dogs and cats. Since then, it has evolved to focus on eradicating animal overpopulation. The new focus is on mass sterilization as well as providing workshops in schools in order to involve the community in our mission. Students can also do voluntary hours with ARF.

In 2015, a total of 432 dogs and cats were rescued; 411 dogs and cats were adopted. ARF also assisted 42 families to travel with their pets and we were able to reunite 95 pets with their owners. ARF of Rincón, Inc. is an official US non-profit organization, run by Volunteers with 16 years of dedication to improving the quality of life for the animals in Rincón. The Adoption Program - includes Taking an Animal to the US & Travel Agent | Rescue Release Assistants & Vet Office Visits The Spay/Neuter Program The Education Program The Foster Program ARF is funded 100% via donations and offers services based on need. ARF has relationships with several Vets in the area to pass on discounted (not free unfortunately) animal care and spay/neuter services. ARF is always open to and looking for large donations to be used to continue our mission. We can extend our services or offer free services with large donations. ARF uses home fosters and as such animals can be introduced to potential adopters in a central location or in various spots around Rincón. In 2012 ARF helped finance the Sterilization of 420 animals, the adoption of 224 animals and the immunization of 427 animals. ARF has a comprehensive social media footprint. ARF uses their website, FB page, & local publications to provide information about available animals, success stories, and animal wish lists.
